Wise Owls 3 - 5 years
Learning is divided up into six
areas.
Personal, Social and Emotional
Development
To develop an awareness of their own needs, views and feelings and to be sensitive
to others.
Mathematical Development
Through stories, songs, games and imaginative play, so that they enjoy using
and experimenting with numbers.
Communication, Language and
Learning
Children are encouraged to take turns and listen to others, to use emergent
writing and recognise some letters. German songs, numbers and colours are
also introduced.
Knowledge and Understanding
of the World
To observe and identify features in the natural world.
Physical Development
To improve skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement.
Creative Development
To respond in a variety of ways to what they see, hear, smell, touch and feel.
The children have the use of six
rooms which are set up in the six areas of learning.
There are opportunities for the
children to engage in activities planned by adults and also those that they
plan or initiate themselves both indoors and outdoors.
The ratio in the Wise Owls is 1 adult to 8 children.
