Playmates Nursery is situated within Kendal town centre at the top of Gillingate and Captain French Lane.

The nursery is housed in one large building which in the past was the Pathology Lab. for the hospital opposite.

There is parking to the front of the building for staff and for parents to drop off their children. For those parents that walk there are facilities to store push chairs at the rear.

Access is gained through the front of the building through a security system. Parents are observed on a monitor and if they are known to staff the door is opened from within the baby unit. Anyone who is not recognised is met at the door by a staff member.

The outdoor area has recently been renovated. We have new secure fencing, all weather cushioned surfacing and both fixed and movable equipment. There is a large permanent pagoda to provide shelter both in summer and in winter.
