Fledglings 2 - 3 years

 

The quiet room

Here the children have a variety of activities to choose from. These include "reading books", jigsaws, and role play, dressing up, small world, number activities, and mark making. Activities are both adult directed and child initiated and again all learning is through play. Observations of the children help us to plan further activities and there is a topic every week.

 

The messy room

Here the children play with sand, water, play dough, paint, construction toys, and shredded paper and there is an adult directed craft activity each day.

 

This rich and varied environment supports children's learning and development. It gives them the confidence to explore and learn in secure and safe yet challenging indoor and outdoor spaces.

Other activities in this age group include German nursery rhymes and counting, music and movement and outdoor play.

 

The ratio in the Fledglings is 1 adult to 4 children.
